Did I Say Retirement?

None of us could’ve seen what 2020 had in store for us. COVID impacted our lives, our jobs, and our families. In August of 2020 I made an announcement that I was stepping away from the wrestling world, with the only exception being a special event or two. I had no idea what was just around the corner.

For the last two years I have been the voice of the promotional content from Championship Wrestling on CW30. I never imagined that I would be part of a great program and working alongside some great people. Yet, just a few weeks ago I came to an agreement with the powers that be to be the ring announcer and backstage interviewer for Championship Wrestling from Memphis. I couldn’t say no.

This is the first time in over 15 years that wrestling will be featured on Memphis television. I remembered when I first broke into the business how much I wanted to be on TV in Memphis. I wanted to be a part of that history. I could never live up the amazing talent that came before me, like Lance Russell, Dave Brown, and so many other great men on the mic. However, I could build upon the foundation they laid and do my part to keep it alive in some small way.

I know that coming back after making such a big announcement seems in bad taste, and only adds to a list of so many who state they are “retiring”. But ask yourself this question. If you had an opportunity to work on television again, to be a part of history, to expose your brand to hundreds of thousands of people, would you? You already know you would say yes. Who wouldn’t?

So I look forward to seeing you all during these LIVE TV tapings coming up this year! Please check out ChampionshipWrestlingMemphis.com for air times, event details, roster information, and merchandise. I hope to see YOU at the show!
